15 professional Walheim tips you need to know
Players may be ready to jump into Valheim as soon as possible, but that might not be the best idea. Here are some pro tips you need to know first.
Updated May 26, 2021 by Payton Lott: Valheim has become one of the big players in the survival genre, and fans of the games continue to put the time and effort into understanding how the title works. Now that most players know the basics, there are more ways to continue your adventure. From collecting food and resources to killing giant snakes, this list will cover 15 pro tips to help players advance in Walheim .
15 Drag the snake for an easy kill
Taking down a snake can seem difficult while on the high seas. The creature has 400 health and deals 70 damage per attack. At the beginning of the game, it will take a lot of arrows to kill the monster in the ocean. Instead of fighting it while on a ship, players can use the harpoon to pick it up and pull it ashore. The huge snake will try to slip back into the water, but if it is pulled far enough inward, it will be easy to kill. Creature looting is also much easier on Earth.
14 Cut trees faster
In Valheim , there is an advanced trick to get wood faster. Trees will fall over other trees like dominoes. By cutting at the right angle, survivors can knock down three or four trees at a time. When cut, the trees will fall in the exact direction the player faces while chopping. By spending only a few seconds arranging the pieces, players can save a lot of time while farming. After the trees are cut, the logs can be cut at the same time as long as they are close enough together.
13 Get Infinite Berries
Players cannot grow berries in Walheim , meaning that the only harvestable berries are in the wild. Not every berry will bear fruit for 300 minutes after harvesting. The timer will be reset if the user comes within about 200m of the raspberry as well. To get around these harsh farming barriers, players must look at the far ends of the map in search of groups of three or more plants. Then, they can isolate the area and create a portal to visit sites every day. With these tips, and a few portals associated with clusters, players will get all the berries they need.
12 Turn the base into a palace
Most players can create a safe base with enough space to house all the important items and materials. However, the majority of bases can use some retouching. Here are some advanced decorating tricks to improve the aesthetics of any building.
- Create a 2×2 diamond-shaped window using four wooden beams in an X pattern.
- Wood beams can serve as crown molding
- Use 2m wooden poles and pile benches to create a false indoor staircase
- Wooden posts can be used as a headboard with banners lining the bed to create a bed frame
- The stone pillars can serve as a base for wooden beam light stand with hanging brass
11 Take down Deathsquitos with a bow
Deathsquitos are the most annoying enemy in the Plains biome. They don’t have much health, but they can be hard to hit with a melee weapon and seem impossible to kill with an arrow. Pro tip to eliminate these creatures is to wait until you charge them and shoot them with a bow. Once Deathsquito starts closing in on the distance, it’s time to strike. They will move in a perfectly straight line at the character’s eye level. Once people set the time, dealing with these pests will be easy.
10 Eat only good food
Look, people shouldn’t eat a lot of junk food in real life, and it’s the same in Walheim ‘s world . The better the quality of food that the players of their character consume, the better the rewards they will get. Mushrooms and berries are good, but cooked proteins can do much more than that. Recovering your health and gaining many rewards is worth it so be a professional vikings chef.
9 Spend coins wisely
Players need to make sure that when they get coins they don’t spend it mindlessly. It may take some work to find the merchant in the Black Forest, but it is really worth doing it. Personally, we recommend picking up the fishing pole ahead of time because seafood is an excellent way to fill your characters’ stomachs.
8 I understand the boss’s summons
Nobody wants to be handed their butts by their boss before they are actually ready to fight them. Summoning the chiefs is a straightforward process that usually requires placing two linked chalices at a particular altar. Once the boss was summoned, it would be an all-out battle for survival.
Each boss requires a different summon method, and there are even bosses hidden in the game that are hard to find. Remember the heavy dragon eggs that no one wanted to carry to the base? *Survivors will need these to summon the Moder.
7 Make a shy med
It takes Fine Wood to be able to make a fermenter, but it’s definitely worth doing once the capacity is unlocked. The various rewards that Mead offers can make certain battles with bosses, or various resource gathering tasks, much easier. Everything from frost resistance to massive regeneration of stamina is possible with a little bit of this honeyed drink.
6 Get pets early
Who does not want a pet pig or a wolf? It is not only possible to tame a boar in Walheim but also a wolf. It takes time and patience, but with a little work, these kind friends will stay with the adventurers of the Vikings. We recommend trying to attract them to areas with temporary cages because it makes feeding much easier. The only way to tame a monster, at this time, is to feed it.
5 stacking storage
Efficiency is key in any survival game, so players must make sure to use chests wisely. Many players never realize that they can stack chests in the game, so storing them takes up much less space. Inventories can fill up quickly, so having a lot of conveniently prepared chests to put things in makes the game go more smoothly. * Obtaining a Mijingord belt from Haldor (Merchant) will help a lot as well.
4 Craft Wolf Armor
Similar to Breath of the Wild , exploring the frozen mountains in Valheim can freeze players to death. Fortunately, there is an easy way to avoid this which players should consider early on. Players only need to craft a Wolf Armor.
Ironically, obtaining wolf skins and other resources requires players to head to the mountains where they will also encounter the cold. There are ways around this, but doing so as soon as possible makes things easier for further exploration. It is worth giving the highest priority.
3 Harvest honey
“Not bees!” Even Vikings trying to survive in a strange form of purgatory have to deal with bees. Getting hives is worth spotting early to get your honey supply flowing from liquid gold. It only takes ten woods and a queen bee to make one, and players can get their queen by smashing the hives they find in the world.
2 Greydwarf farm nests
It’s not always easy to eliminate Greydwarves, but doing so can give players a lot of resources that are hard to track down. Occasionally, Greydwarves’ nests will appear randomly in different places in the game. Although there is no way to control the spawn, players should not immediately destroy the next. Instead, they must take down as many waves of creatures as possible to get things like stones, wood, resin, and rare Greydwarf eyes.
1 Use console commands
Everyone has different feelings about cheating in games, but Valheim ‘s console commands give players endless options worth exploring. It can be used to delete items, start events, or even just take beautiful photos. Not to mention, teleportation is incredibly useful and can save the effort of a long, boring walk to get to friends.
